Peskov announced phone call between Putin and Trump: Soon

US President Donald Trump and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin may hold a telephone conversation in the near future.
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said this, Censor.NET reports, citing Russian media.
What is known
Peskov said a conversation between Putin and Trump was expected soon. Asked by journalists, he replied: "Soon."
The Kremlin also said it did not know whether US negotiators Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner would visit Russia in October.
Peskov added that "American negotiators are always welcome in Moscow, and Putin is happy to meet with them."
Background
- The previous day, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said European partners would join the Ukrainian negotiating team during its visit to the United States on October 9–10. A meeting with US special envoys Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff is expected.
- It was also reported that US presidential special envoy Steve Witkoff and Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner may visit Moscow in late October for talks with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin on ending the war in Ukraine.
