He spied on Pokrovsk defenders under guise of UN volunteer: SSU detains FSS agent - SSU. PHOTOS
The Security Service detained an FSS agent in Donetsk region. He was a 34-year-old local volunteer of the UN World Food Programme recruited by the occupiers.
This was reported by the press centre of the SSU, Censor.NET reports.
It is noted that the traitor, under the guise of volunteering, spied on the locations of the Defence Forces in the Pokrovsk sector, where the highest concentration of enemy attacks has been recorded.
Agent tasks
The Russian agent's task was to identify the locations of Ukrainian infantry and artillery holding the defence near the district centre.
According to the case file, to find the coordinates, the defendant travelled around the district centre and nearby settlements under the guise of delivering humanitarian aid to local residents.
He used a messenger to transmit the data to his Russian supervisor, an FSS officer, whose identity has already been established by the SSU counterintelligence.
The ruscists used the information from the agent to plan new attacks on Pokrovsk using guided aerial bombs and FPV drones.
SSU CI officers exposed the agent at the initial stage of his reconnaissance activities and detained him. Comprehensive measures were taken to secure the positions of the Defence Forces.
During the searches, a mobile phone with an anonymous chat in a messenger was seized from the detainee, which he used to communicate with the FSS officer.
Suspicion of a Russian agent
Based on the obtained evidence, the SSU investigators served the detainee a notice of suspicion under Part 2 Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason committed under martial law).
The offender is in custody. He faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
