Law enforcers served a notice of suspicion to military blogger Vladyslav Sord (Hranetskyi-Stafichuk), who defrauded his followers of more than UAH 350,000 during a fundraiser for an Armed Forces unit.

This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to the press services of the Prosecutor General's Office and the National Police.

They did not disclose the name of the suspect, but the case file makes it clear that it is Vladyslav Sord. This was also confirmed by UP sources. Sord was previously accused on social media of misappropriating funds raised for the needs of the military.

What did the investigation reveal?

According to the investigation, the serviceman organised fundraising for the supply of weapons and UAVs for one of the military units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In particular, in July 2022, the man wrote on his page that he had the opportunity to purchase five foreign-made mortars worth about UAH 3.5 million. He justified the urgency and importance of the fundraising by saying that they would help the military in the battles near Izium, the National Police said.

However, he later spent part of the funds raised at his own discretion.

In this way, the suspect seized the victims' funds totalling over UAH 357 thousand. This is evidenced by the movement of funds on his private card accounts, to which law enforcement officers received authorised access during the investigation.

As part of the criminal investigation, law enforcement officers conducted searches at the suspect's place of residence.
