Kyiv region bids farewell to Mykhailo Protsenko, a rescuer with the 22nd State Fire and Rescue Unit in the settlement of Kalyta, who was killed when structures collapsed while handling the aftermath of a Russian strike on an industrial facility in the city of Yahotyn.

What is known about the deceased?
As noted, Mykhailo was born and raised in the city of Nosivka. After completing conscript service in 2014, he signed a contract and joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine to defend the state. For six years, he defended his homeland from Russian occupiers, and after returning from the combat zone, he again chose the path of service, becoming a rescuer, someone who risks his own life every day for the sake of others.
"Mykhailo was sincere, reliable, strong in spirit, always ready to lend a helping hand, support, and help. For his comrades, he was a pillar. For those he rescued, he was hope," the SES emphasized.
