Putin: Russia will talk to Zelenskyy if he runs for election and "gains legitimacy". VIDEO

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has said that he will only talk to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy if he is "legitimate".

According to Censor.NET, citing the Russian media, he said this during a direct line.

"Russia will talk to Zelenskyy if he runs for election and gains legitimacy," the media quoted the president of the occupying country as saying.

The dictator noted that Russia would sign peace documents "only with the legitimate leader of Ukraine".

He added that Russia is ready to negotiate with Ukraine on the basis of the Istanbul agreements and taking into account the situation on the ground.

Earlier, Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin said that Russia was supposedly ready for negotiations and compromises.

The New York Times published a document that was discussed by Ukraine and Russia in the spring of 2022. The draft of the so-called peace agreement was not agreed upon.

On 14 June 2024, dictator Putin held a meeting of the Russian Foreign Ministry board, during which he stated that in order to start negotiations, Ukraine must completely withdraw its troops from the 4 occupied regions.

Putin also said that the West should immediately provide Russia with security guarantees.

The Russian Foreign Ministry recently stated that Russia is ready to study Trump's proposals on Ukraine, but this does not mean that they will be supported.

The Kremlin believes that negotiations on Ukraine on the basis of the "Istanbul agreements" are possible.

Putin's arrest warrant

On 17 March 2023, the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for Russian dictator Vladimir Putin and Russian Presidential Children's Ombudsman Maria Lvova-Belova.
