Russia has cut off important logistics route to Huliaipole: evacuation in jeopardy. VIDEO
Russian forces have cut one of the key logistical routes leading to the town of Huliaipole in Zaporizhzhia region.
Approaches to the city are under the control of Russian strike drones
According to Censor.NET, citing SLAWA TV, the approaches to the town are under constant surveillance and attack by Russian kamikaze drones and FPV drones, creating a critical threat to the movement of military equipment, the delivery of ammunition and humanitarian cargo.
Evacuating civilians comes with huge risks
Due to the constant threat from the air, even the evacuation of local residents has become extremely risky. Volunteer groups and the military note that any movement of vehicles toward Hulyaipole can be attacked within minutes of being detected.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine withdraw from several nearby villages
Last week, Ukrainian units were forced to withdraw from several settlements near Huliaipole due to the threat of encirclement and intense assaults by Russian forces. This has altered the configuration of the frontline and significantly complicated the town’s defence.
Frontline now 6 to 1.5 kilometres from the town
After Russian forces took new positions, the distance from the frontline to Hulyaipole in different sectors has shrunk to between 6 and 1.5 kilometres. This makes the town one of the hottest spots on the Zaporizhzhia front.
