In Sumy region, air defence unit of the 47th SMB shot down Russian FPV with anti-aircraft drone and saved civilians. VIDEO

In Sumy region, the "Sky Wars" air defence unit of the 47th separate mechanised brigade "Magura" successfully intercepted a Russian FPV drone that was threatening civilians.

According to Censor.NET, the enemy drone with an RPG charge was pursuing a minibus carrying civilians. The air defence operator used an anti-aircraft drone and destroyed the FPV in the air before it hit its target.

Thanks to the prompt and professional actions of the servicemen of the 47th SMB, possible casualties among the civilian population were prevented.

"Such an air operation is rare. First, the enemy drone was flying low and difficult to detect; second, catching up with an FPV drone that is about to strike is a task for a highly skilled pilot; third, it is an unequal exchange, because an interceptor drone is more expensive than an FPV drone. But here, Sky Wars' priority was to save people's lives," the fighters wrote in a comment on the video.

This incident once again confirms that Russian troops continue to use strike drones against non-military targets and demonstrates the effectiveness of Ukrainian solutions in countering FPV drones in frontline and border areas.
