USF and DIU destroy 4 Orion UAVs, An-72P aircraft and Mech radar in Crimea. VIDEO

Units of the Unmanned Systems Forces (USF) and the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU) destroyed four Orion UAVs, an An-72P transport aircraft, and a Mech radar system at the Kirovske airfield in temporarily occupied Crimea.

According to Censor.NET, on the night of 2 April 2026, units of the 1st Separate Center of the Unmanned Systems Forces and the 9th Department of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine struck the base and pre-flight preparation point for Orion strike-reconnaissance UAVs.

Details about the Orion UAV

The Orion is a drone capable of staying airborne for up to 24 hours, operating at a depth of 250–300 km, and carrying up to 250 kg of weaponry at an altitude of up to 7.5 km.

Targets destroyed

As a result of the strike, the facility at the Kirovske airfield near the settlement of Krasnosilske was destroyed.

The destruction of four Orion UAVs, an An-72P transport aircraft, and a P-37 Mech radar station has been confirmed.

The strike was carried out using Ukrainian-made FP-2 middle-strike systems with a 60–100 kg warhead.
