Court leaves Chervinskyi in custody

Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv has decided to extend for another month measure of restraint in form of detention without possibility of bail for ex-intelligence officer Roman Chervinskyi.
This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to Radio Liberty.
The court granted the prosecutor's motion. At the same time, the lawyers asked the court to allow Chervinsky to be released on the personal guarantees of public figures who came to the court and stated their intention to do so. In particular, dissident and Hero of Ukraine Stepan Khmara, MP Geo Leros and others were ready to bail Chervinsky out.
The lawyers said that they would appeal the court's decision.
"The prosecution did not provide any new evidence on the basis of which it was necessary to detain Roman and keep him in custody. The court did not take into account the fact that his mother had lost her sight and his wife was disabled. He has three dependent children," said lawyer Serhiy Lysenko.
Thus, Chervinsky will remain in custody at least until 21 July.
As a reminder, Roman Chervinsky gave Censor.NET an exclusive interview in which he spoke about the operation at Kanatove airfield.
Earlier, the media reported that the Ukrainian military had been recruiting a Russian pilot for several months to hijack the plane. According to media reports, Roman Chervinsky was among them. Subsequently, as the SBU noted, the "operation" was carried out over the objections of the SBU and without the consent of the relevant state authorities. As a result, the enemy received information about the deployment of personnel of the Ukrainian Air Force and Ukrainian aircraft at the Kanatove airfield. This allowed the Russian Armed Forces to shell the airfield.
Later, the SBU served Chervinsky with a notice of suspicion in the case of the shelling of the Kanatove airfield in Kirovohrad region by the occupiers. He was detained in the Ternopil region.
On 25 April, the court imposed a measure of restraint on Chervinskiy in the form of arrest without bail. On 15 May, the court left Chervinskiy in custody.
