Germany to provide Ukraine with 180,000 rounds of ammunition as part of Czech initiative - Reuters

Ukraine is to receive 180,000 artillery shells from Germany as part of a Czech-led initiative to purchase ammunition for Kyiv.
This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to Reuters.
The agency recalled that last month, German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius announced an aid package worth €478 million to Ukraine, not including support for the Czech initiative to provide ammunition.
"This brings the total cost of both support measures to more than one billion euros," said a representative of the German defence ministry.
According to the Ministry, Germany's share of this initiative will be 40%.
Earlier, the Czech Republic announced that it would increase the amount of its contribution to its own initiative to purchase 800,000 rounds of ammunition for Ukraine.
Czech initiative to purchase 800,000 rounds of ammunition for Ukraine
Earlier, Czech Prime Minister Fiala said that 15 countries were ready to join the initiative to purchase ammunition for Ukraine outside Europe. Subsequently, several more countries joined the initiative. Czech President Petr Pavel confirmed that Ukraine's allies had transferred the entire amount of money needed to provide Ukraine with 800,000 artillery shells. Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal expects that Ukraine may receive the first batch of these shells in April.
