2 missiles and 56 of 87 attack UAVs were shot down, 25 drones were lost to location - Air Force
On the night of October 6, 2024, the Russian invaders attacked Ukraine with attack UAVs and missiles of various types.
Censor.NET reports this with reference to the press center of the Air Force Command.
As noted, in total, more than 90 means of air attack of the enemy were detected and escorted by the radio engineering troops of the Air Force:
- 2 Iskander-M ballistic missiles;
- 1 Iskander-K cruise missile;
- 1 guided air missile Kh-59/69;
- 87 unmanned aerial vehicles of the "Shahed" type (launch areas: Orel, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Kursk - RF).
The enemy air attack was repulsed by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Air Force and the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
"As a result of anti-aircraft combat, two missiles and 56 enemy attack UAVs of the "Shahed" type were shot down in the Mykolaiv, Odesa, Kyiv, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Dnipropetrovsk, Sumy, Chernihiv, Poltava, Vinnytsia, Khmelnytskyi, Zaporizhzhia, Zhytomyr and Kharkiv regions," the message says.
It is also reported that 25 drones (as of 09:00) have been lost in locations in various regions of Ukraine, presumably as a result of active countermeasures by EW. The information is being clarified.
In addition, 4 UAVs are in the airspace of Ukraine.
