Trump wants to end war, and he is on side of supporting Ukraine - Zelenskyy
US President-elect Donald Trump supports Ukraine.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this in an interview with Ukrainian Radio, Censor.NET reports with reference to Ukrinform.
"We had a very good meeting with him in September. It was positive, clear, reasoned on our part. He heard the basis on which we stand. I have not heard anything against our position.... I also congratulated him on his victory. We also had a good conversation. He said he wants to end the war, but he wants to help. And he is on the side of supporting Ukraine, he appreciates our strength, integrity, and courage," Zelenskyy said.
He noted that the Ukrainian and US teams will work on a joint meaningful meeting, and after that, it will be possible to talk about the US vision of further developments and Ukraine's response to it.
"As President of Ukraine, I will take seriously a conversation only with the President of the United States. With all due respect to any of his entourage," Zelenskyy said.
Earlier, Zelensky also named the conditions for starting negotiations with Russia. Zelenskyy also claimed that Putin is seeking to destroy Ukraine, and he does not want the negotiations to end the war to result in any good. In addition, he assured that the war would end faster under the Trump administration and that the rhetoric of "sit down and listen" does not work.
