Pair of Ukrainian SU-25 attack aircraft striking occupiers with American "Zuni" missiles. VIDEO

A video with fragments of combat operations by a pair of Ukrainian SU-25 attack aircraft from the 299th Tactical Aviation Brigade has been posted online.

According to Censor.NET, the recording shows Ukrainian pilots launching unguided US "Zuni" missiles.

"The Zuni" is an American unguided "air-to-ground" and "air-to-air" missile. It can be equipped with various warheads, including high-explosive, high-explosive fragmentation, dipole reflectors and others. The system was developed in the 1950s by Douglas and Sperry Corporations in cooperation with engineers from the China Lake Weapons Test Station. In 1957, it was adopted by the US Navy and Air Force. The missiles were used to arm F-89 and F-4 deck-based fighters, as well as all types of attack aircraft. The missile is designed to engage small ground and surface targets, such as tanks, small ships, and artillery batteries. It can be equipped with various types of warheads. The high-explosive fragmentation warhead penetrates armour with a thickness of about 500 mm. The maximum range of an aimed shot is 8 km. The missile is stabilised in flight by rotation. For use with missiles, the LAU-10 launcher is offered, which has four tubular guides in which missiles are placed. It was widely used during the Vietnam War.
