Trump team in talks with White House and Ukrainian officials about ending war - NBC

President-elect Donald Trump's national security team has held talks with the White House and Ukrainian officials as part of joint efforts to "find ways" to end the war with Russia.
According to Censor.NET, several sources familiar with the matter told NBC News.
Talks between Biden and Trump's advisers
It is noted that Joe Biden's national security adviser, Jake Sullivan, had several conversations with his likely successor, Republican Mike Waltz.
They focused on exchanging relevant information, but did not discuss strategies to end the war or achieve a truce.
Trump wants peace deal on first day in office
A senior Biden administration official noted that such conversations help the Trump team avoid surprises in the White House's actions towards Ukraine before the new president's inauguration.
Trump is really serious about wanting to get to a ceasefire on day one," said a source with knowledge of the matter.
NBC News also notes that Trump seems to realise that the obstacle to peace is not Ukraine, but the position of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.
"The atmosphere thus far in terms of the engagement between the Ukrainians and the incoming Trump team, including Zelenskyy and Trump himself, has been positive," another source said.
At the same time, the interlocutors add that the Trump team has not yet presented Ukraine with any clear or conceptual "peace plan".
Trump's team is actively working to achieve a ceasefire that would pave the way for peace talks, NBC News concludes.
As a reminder, earlier US President-elect Donald Trump said that he wanted to reach a peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia and planned to put pressure on Russia.
He also considers the war in Ukraine a higher priority than the conflict in the Middle East.
