Russian cyberattacks on state registers: Ministry of Justice plans to dismiss CEO of NIS Berezhnyi, - media

The Ministry of Justice of Ukraine will dismiss CEO of the State Enterprise National Information Systems Oleksii Berezhnyi. The company manages the registers of the Ministry of Justice, which were attacked by Russian hackers on December 19.

It should be noted that Berezhnyi became the company's CEO in 2019.
According to UP, on December 19, NIS announced that it was carrying out planned technical work, in particular on the Unified State Register, the State Register of Civil Status Acts and the Bankruptcy and Insolvency system.
On the same day, the Russian Telegram channel XakNet Team stated that as a result of the attack on NAIS, hackers allegedly gained access to the infrastructure of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine.
Russian hackers claimed to have stolen and deleted more than 1 billion lines of data, including information stored on a backup server in Poland.
Russian cyberattack
On December 19, it became known about a large-scale failure in the operation of state registries due to a Russian cyberattack. Later, Deputy Prime Minister Olha Stefanishyna said that the consequences of the attack were being studied, but no personal data leakage was recorded.
The Ministry of Justice said that it would take about two weeks to fully restore state registries after the cyberattack.
