Tyshchenko once again ignored court hearing: he is busy in Verkhovna Rada

Tyshchenko once again failed to appear in court

Another preparatory court hearing in the case of Mykola Tyshchenko took place in Dnipro. He did not join via video link, as he did last time.

This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to Radio Liberty.

According to Tyshchenko's lawyer, the People's Deputy is currently attending a session of the Verkhovna Rada and therefore cannot be present. On December 23, the term of his preventive measure in the form of round-the-clock house arrest expired.

Instead, the victim, a former fighter of the Kraken special unit of the DIU "Kraken", Dmytro Mazokha, and former police officer Bohdan Pysarenko, who, along with Tyshchenko, is accused of unlawfully depriving Mazokha of his liberty, were present in the room. Pysarenko asked not to be filmed.

As a reminder, on December 23, Mykola Tyshchenko's round-the-clock house arrest expired. He was due to be re-elected, but Tyshchenko twice ignored the court's request to attend the hearing.

He joined the hearing on January 6 online but immediately asked for the judge's recusal. As a result, the hearing was postponed to January 10. Meanwhile, Tyshchenko appeared in the Verkhovna Rada.

As Stefanchuk explained, since People`s Deputy Mykola Tyshchenko's house arrest had expired, he was able to attend the Verkhovna Rada session.

Another defendant in the Tyshchenko case, ex-convict Bohdan Pysarenko, has already had his preventive measure extended. The court is holding a preparatory hearing before the trial begins on the merits.

Tyshchenko's case

On 20 June, in the city of Dnipro, a group of unidentified people attacked a former Kraken special forces soldier, Dmytro Pavlov (Son), while he was walking with his child. The footage shows that the alleged guards of People`s Deputy Mykola Tyshchenko, with whom Pavlov had a dispute, were involved.

The scandalous video from Dnipro, in which People`s Deputy Mykola Tyshchenko's bodyguards attacked the former military man and illegally detained him, also featured Evelina Andrievska, the assistant of People`s Deputy.

On the morning of 25 June, the SBI reported that People`s Deputy Mykola Tyshchenko had been notified of suspicion over the events in Dnipro on 20 June. The agency said that the People`s Deputy was notified of suspicion of unlawful deprivation of liberty of the victim (part 2 of Article 146 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The court imposed a measure of restraint on Tyshchenko in the form of round-the-clock house arrest with the wearing of electronic monitoring devices.
