EU is not tired of Ukraine - European Commissioner Labib

The EU has no plans to cut the humanitarian aid budget for Ukraine, but the international community needs to be reminded of what is happening in Ukraine.
This was stated by the European Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness and Crisis Management Aja Labib, Censor.NET reports with reference to Ukrinform.
"There is no reduction (of the humanitarian budget for Ukraine - ed.) in the EU, on the contrary," she said, recalling the new humanitarian support package of 148 million euros announced by the European Commission on January 13.
"This is twice as many as we had last year. And this means a lot. It means that we are not going to abandon Ukraine. There is no fatigue with Ukraine. And the best way to engage the international community is to remind them that what is happening in Ukraine also affects them all. Yes, you are on the front line now, but we are also Russia's targets," the European Commissioner added.
Labib noted that while the EU is facing only hybrid threats, Ukraine's soldiers are fighting on the battlefield, fighting for the values of the European Union.
"I have just visited Maidan. I am well aware of the desire of the Ukrainian people to be part of the European Union, their strong desire to live in a democratic country. This is one of the basic Ukrainian values. Your people want to follow this path. ...
And I remember the historic day when we succeeded because the opening of accession negotiations was a very difficult issue. After all, your country is so big, including in terms of demographics, but at the same time it offers the EU so many opportunities," the European Commissioner concluded.
