Lukashenko on Russia-US talks: US may try to drive wedge between Russia and China

Lukashenko

Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko commented on the talks between Russia and the United States, expressing concern about possible US attempts to drive a wedge between Russia and China.

This is reported by Radio Liberty, Censor.NET informs.

Lukashenko emphasized that the political situation on the world stage is changing, but "one should not indulge in illusions."

"We do not know what the United States wants. We do not know what they will demand from the Russians in exchange for ending the war, etc. It seems to me that they will now try to drive a wedge between the Russians and the Chinese. The Russians must not allow this to happen," Lukashenko said.

He also commented on how the negotiations could affect Belarus.

"In some ways, we might benefit; in others, it seems unlikely—especially when all these foreign companies return there, first American, then European. Competing on our turf will not be easy. But everyone will need food," Lukashenko added.
