On Saturday, February 28, the UN Security Council will convene for an emergency meeting on the situation in the Middle East.
This was reported by the Permanent Representation of the United Kingdom, according to Censor.NET with reference to Ukrinform.
The Security Council is convening for a meeting
"Following requests from several UN Security Council members to hold an emergency meeting today, the United Kingdom, which currently holds the presidency of the Security Council, will convene a meeting on the situation in the Middle East," the Permanent Mission said.
It is reported that requests were sent by Bahrain, Colombia, China, France, and Russia.
UN Secretary-General António Guterres confirmed his readiness to address the Security Council on this issue.
The meeting will begin at 4 p.m. New York time (11 p.m. Kyiv time).
Strikes on Iran on February 28
