US sends third aircraft carrier to Middle East, - Wall Street Journal

The United States is sending an additional aircraft carrier to the Middle East, which could result in three aircraft carriers being present in the region at the same time.

U.S. officials told The Wall Street Journal about this, according to Censor.NET.

"Three aircraft carriers may be in the region in the near future," the statement said.

At the same time, the publication notes that the U.S. Navy declined to comment on upcoming operations.

The aircraft carrier USS George H.W. Bush departed from Naval Station Norfolk in Virginia on Tuesday, and it may take several weeks to reach the region.

• Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump promised devastating strikes against Iran’s energy facilities if Tehran were to renege on the agreement with the United States.
