Court extends preventive measure for Shufrych until March 13: bail set at UAH 33 mln. VIDEO

The court extended the preventive measure for Nestor Shufrych, an MP from the banned Opposition Platform – For Life (OPZZh), until March 13. Bail is set at 33 million hryvnias.

What is known

Thus, the court extended Shufrych’s detention until March 13, 2026, with the option of posting bail in the amount of more than 33 million hryvnias.

The court also extended the preventive measure for his former aide, house arrest, until March 13, 2026.

Both are suspected of financing actions aimed at violently changing the constitutional order and seizing state power (Part 3 of Article 110-2 of Ukraine’s Criminal Code).

Shufrych is additionally accused of high treason (Part 1 of Article 111 of Ukraine’s Criminal Code).

What preceded this?

Earlier, it was reported that the Kyiv Court of Appeal changed the preventive measure for Nestor Shufrych, an MP from the banned OPZZh, who is suspected of high treason.

The Shufrych case

  • We recall that Shufrych and his aide will stand trial for financing Russia’s National Guard (Rosgvardia) in occupied Crimea. Earlier, former MP from the banned Opposition Platform — For Life, Nestor Shufrych, was served a notice of suspicion for high treason.
  • According to the investigation, he closely cooperated with and carried out tasks for former NSDC secretary Volodymyr Sivkovych, an FSB agent whose task was to coordinate Russia’s agent network in Ukraine. It was also reported that the court ordered that the suspected traitor Shufrych be ensured the ability to perform his parliamentary duties.
