Officer of 211th Brigade Pastukh, who abused his subordinates, was served notice of suspicion. He is hiding from investigation - SBI
The commander of one of the platoons of the pontoon and bridge battalion of the 211th pontoon and bridge brigade, who mocked the soldiers, was notified of suspicion.
This was reported by the press service of the State Bureau of Investigation, Censor.NET reports.
Thus, the investigation established numerous facts of the use of unstatutory measures of influence by the senior lieutenant against his subordinates.
"In particular, in the last days of February 2024, in the Dnipropetrovsk region, he beat a soldier because he was intoxicated. After kicking him in the face, the officer did not calm down and ordered his subordinates to take the drunken soldier into the room and undress him to humiliate him. After that, the officer continued to beat the subordinate. A month later, while in Avdiivka, Donetsk region, the senior lieutenant again beat the same soldier and ordered the soldiers to pick the beaten man up off the ground, put him against a wooden structure in the form of a cross, and tie his hands to it. The latter remained in this position for about four hours," the report says.
In February 2024, another case of beating a soldier was recorded in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
"The officer had a dispute with one of his subordinates over the publication of a video on the Internet in which another soldier of the same brigade spoke about the inadequate living conditions. After that, the senior lieutenant deliberately struck him in the face.
Also, in May 2024, in the Kharkiv region, he beat another of his subordinates because of dissatisfaction with the form of addressing him as "you," the SBI said.
The investigation continues to establish the facts of violence against soldiers in the brigade.
The senior lieutenant is suspected of using violence against a subordinate by a military officer under martial law and unauthorized leaving the unit (Part 5 of Article 426-1, Article 407 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
He is currently hiding from the investigation, and after his arrest, investigators will ask the court to send him to custody.
What preceded it?
Earlier, Censor.NET reported that the godson of the commander of the 211th Pontoon and Bridge Brigade, Vladyslav Pastukh, beat and abused soldiers who drank alcohol but did not pay him money for not drawing up reports of violations.
The General Staff reported that the commander was suspended after the article was published, and a commission of the Military Service Commission was sent to the military unit.
It was also noted that law enforcement officers are investigating the alleged involvement of the commander of the 211th Pontoon Bridge Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the involvement of subordinates in the construction of a house in the Khmelnytskyi region during their secondment to the combat zone.
The Main Inspectorate of the Ministry of Defence will verify the facts presented in the media about the abuse of servicemen of the 211th Pontoon Bridge Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
At the same time, Defense Ministry spokesman Dmytro Lazutkin said that the ministry had not received any previous information about cases of abuse of servicemen of the 211th Pontoon and Bridge Brigade of the Armed Forces.
On December 17, police investigators in Ternopil region served a notice of suspicion to the commander of the 211th Pontoon and Bridge Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine of abuse of office.
The commander of the 211th Pontoon and Bridge Brigade was arrested with the right to almost one million UAH bail.
The commander of the 211th Pontoon and Bridge Brigade, Oleh Poberezhniuk, was released on bail of UAH 908.4 thousand.
