AFU Captain Shyrshyn on "Syrskyi’s assault regiments": People are often led into positions under false pretenses

Oleksandr Shyrshyn, a former battalion commander in the 47th Separate Mechanised Brigade, has expressed his distrust of the " Syrskyi's assault regiments".
He made this statement in an interview with Radio Liberty, reports Censor.NET.
Details
According to Shyrshyn, he witnessed some of the assaults with his own eyes.
"I know how these units are recruited. I also know how these units operate. The worst thing is that these methods are supported by our commander-in-chief (Syrskyi. – Ed.). No one pays any attention to this. The cost doesn’t matter – the result is what counts," explained the former battalion commander.
The soldier said that people are often brought to their posts by deception or force.
"To say that there’s no one there and lead people into the enemy’s dugout. To carry out the task set by senior command," he added.
The battalion commander described a situation where one of these regiments arrived at his position.
"They reached my men, and they were shouted at over the radio that they must 'not take a step back, forward, forward'. And my lads said: 'Are we idiots? Don’t we realise we’ll die there right now?'" noted Shyrshyn.
He added that the men were prepared to be wounded before even reaching the position rather than carry out the order, realising that they would not be able to complete it and would die.
Use of force
Also, according to Shyrshyn, force is used in these regiments.
"After what I’ve seen, I have absolutely no trust in these regiments," he concluded.
What led up to this?
- Earlier, Censor.NET reported that Shyrshyn, commander of the 47th Mechanised Brigade "Magura", had submitted a request for dismissal due to the command’s "idiotic tasks".
- In turn, Censor.NET Editor-in-Chief Yurii Butusov, commenting on Shyrshyn’s action, noted that the statement by the commander of the 47th Mechanised Brigade, Shyrshyn, requires an official response from the Headquarters and the command. Further actions in the Kursk region should only be planned after an after-action review.
- It was later reported that, on the orders of the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a working group had been set up to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances outlined in the social media post by the commander of the 47th Separate Mechanised Brigade.
- The working group, which investigated the situation published by Battalion Commander ‘Magura’ Shyrshyn on social media regarding a series of ineffective decisions at the front, found Shyrshyn himself to be undisciplined.
- Subsequently, the court overturned the reprimand against Shyrshyn.
