Police have arrested a man who was looting damaged flats in the Podil district of the capital following a rocket attack.

Consequences of the attack

Today, as a result of an overnight enemy rocket strike on Khoriva Lane in Kyiv, residential buildings were damaged, with the blast wave shattering windows and doors in the flats.

While residents were in shelters, the perpetrator took advantage of the situation and began breaking into the damaged homes, from where he stole the owners’ personal belongings.

"One of the female victims contacted the police to report the theft of her property. Law enforcement officers quickly located the suspect and arrested him directly in one of the flats, where he was attempting to commit another theft," the statement said.

What is known about the thief?

The perpetrator turned out to be a 29-year-old man who was already wanted for committing a property crime in another region.
