Russia is ready to resume talks with Ukraine, but Kyiv must take into account Putin’s conditions - Medvedev. VIDEO

Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev said that Russia is allegedly ready for talks with Ukraine, but Kyiv must take into account the conditions of dictator Putin.

According to Censor.NET, he said this after talks with the head of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping.

"We are generally positive about these proposals and are ready to resume negotiations with Ukraine, but only if Ukraine understands the realities on the ground and the proposals and positions that President Putin formulated during his speech at the Foreign Ministry board this year," Medvedev said.

On 14 June 2024, dictator Putin held a meeting of the Russian Foreign Ministry board, during which he stated that in order to start negotiations, Ukraine must completely withdraw its troops from 4 occupied regions.

Putin also said that the West should immediately provide Russia with security guarantees.

Earlier, US President-elect Donald Trump said that he considers resolving the war in Ukraine a higher priority than the conflict in the Middle East.

Reuters reported that Trump, during a meeting with Emmanuel Macron and Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Paris, said he wanted talks to end the war quickly.

Trump also said that he wants to reach a peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia and plans to put pressure on Russia.

The Russian Foreign Ministry recently stated that Russia is ready to study Trump's proposals on Ukraine, but this does not mean that they will be supported.
