Every day, Russia attacks Ukraine with drones, missiles, and bombs. This week, hundreds of attacks on our cities and communities: nearly 50 missiles, about 660 attack drones, and more than 760 guided aerial bombs were fired by the enemy against our people.
According to Censor.NET, this was announced by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Russia will not stop on its own. The world must force it to end this brutal and unprovoked aggression. It is imperative that we strengthen our defenses. We need better defense. Air defense, long-range weapons, sanctions pressure. All this helps to protect life here in Ukraine. I thank everyone in the world who understands the importance of this and continues to believe in and support our country.
Shelling of Ukraine over the week
On 1 February, the Russian invaders carried out a combined missile attack: they launched 165 air targets at Ukraine, including ballistic and cruise missiles, guided aerial munitions, and 123 Shahed kamikaze attack drones.
On the morning of 1 February 2025, the Russian army hit a residential building in Poltava with a missile. The entrance from the 1st to the 5th floor was destroyed and a fire broke out. Eighteen nearby apartment buildings and a kindergarten were damaged.
As of 10:30 a.m. on 2 February, the death toll had risen to 14 people, including 2 children. One person died in hospital.
On the night of 1 February, explosions occurred in Odesa during an air raid drill. As a result of the Russian attack on Odesa, at least two cultural buildings protected under UNESCO conventions were severely damaged. Later it became known that 19 architectural monuments had sustained varying degrees of damage.
The Russians also attacked enterprises and energy infrastructure facilities in the Zaporizhzhia, Odesa, Sumy, Kharkiv, Khmelnytsky, and Kyiv regions.
On the evening of Friday, 31 January, a series of explosions occurred in Odesa. Russian invaders fired missiles at the historic center of Odesa. The Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that Norwegian embassy staff came under fire in Odesa on the evening of 31 January.
On the night of 31 January 2025, Russian troops launched 102 Shahed attack UAVs and various types of imitation drones into Ukraine. Air defense forces shot down 59 Shahed attack UAVs and other types of drones. The Russian attack affected the Sumy, Odesa, and Cherkasy regions.
On the night of 30 January 2025, the Russian occupiers attacked Ukraine with 81 Shahed-type attack UAVs and various types of imitation drones. A Russian drone hit an apartment block in Sumy. Ten people were killed.
The Chernihiv, Sumy, Odesa, and Poltava regions also suffered as a result of the hostile attack. Industrial enterprises, private and apartment buildings, and vehicles were damaged.
On the night of 29 January 2025, Russian troops attacked Ukraine with 57 Shahed-type attack UAVs and various types of imitation drones. Mykolaiv, Odesa, Kharkiv, Kyiv, and Sumy regions suffered as a result of the attack.
On the night of 28 January, the Russian occupiers attacked Ukraine with 100 Shahed attack UAVs and various types of imitation drones. As a result of the UAV attack, buildings of private enterprises, infrastructure facilities, apartment and private houses, and vehicles were damaged. There were no casualties, and the victims are being treated. Special services are eliminating the consequences of the enemy attack in the Odesa, Kyiv, Sumy, Poltava, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, and Kharkiv regions.
On the night of Monday, 27 January 2025, Russian troops attacked Ukraine with 104 Shahed-type attack UAVs and various types of imitation drones. The attack by Russian UAVs affected the Dnipro, Sumy, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Kyiv regions. Infrastructure facilities, apartment blocks, and private homes were hit. Preliminary reports indicate no casualties, and the injured are being treated. Special services are eliminating the consequences of the attack.
