16 prosecutors with fake disabilities dismissed in Khmelnytskyi region

Only 16 prosecutors with disabilities have been dismissed from the Khmelnytskyi Regional Prosecutor’s Office following a scandal involving mass issuance of medical certificates with allegedly fake diagnoses.

This was reported by the Khmelnytskyi Regional Prosecutor’s Office in response to an information request by Slidstvo.Info, as cited by Censor.NET.

According to law enforcement data, 47 prosecutors with disabilities are currently employed in the region.

Between October 1, 2024, and April 2025, a total of 16 prosecutors with disabilities were dismissed from their positions.

Earlier it was reported that the Ministry of Health canceled fake disabilities of 74 out of 526 prosecutors who have them. Despite this number of confirmed fake disabilities, the Prosecutor General's Office is not going to fire any of these prosecutors.

Corruption in Medical and Social Expert Commission (MSEC)

As a reminder, on October 5, the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) reported that $6 million in cash had been found during searches at the home of Krupa, head of the MSEC in Khmelnytskyi region.

It was also reported that the head of the Khmelnytskyi Regional MSEC Center was detained and formally charged with illicit enrichment.

The SBI is currently reviewing documents found in Krupa’s office, which contain lists of names and allegedly fake medical diagnoses.

On Monday, 7 October, the Pecherskyi District Court imposed a pre-trial restraint in the form of detention on the head of the Khmelnytskyi Regional MSEC, Tetiana Krupa.

On 10 October, Oleksandr Krupa, the son of Tetiana Krupa, resigned at his own request from the post of head of the Pension Fund in Khmelnytskyi region.

On 16 October, the editor-in-chief of Censor.NET, Yurii Butusov, published information that 49 prosecutors of the Khmelnytskyi region, headed by the regional prosecutor Oliinik, had received disability by "covering up" the corruption scheme of the servant of the people Krupa in the MSEC and the Pension Fund. In particular, the journalist provided a list of the names of all prosecutors and described the criminal scheme used.

Censor.NET also published a list of 30 heads of regional prosecutor's offices who receive the largest pensions.

On December 30, President Zelenskyy signed a law to liquidate the MSEC as of January 1, 2025.
