Russians are looking for people in Oleshky to appear in propaganda videos, but most of them refuse, - Regional Military Administration

The situation in Oleshky: Russian forces are filming propaganda

Commanders of Russian units blockading the city of Oleshky have been ordered to film propaganda videos featuring civilians.

Elvina Osmanova, head of the Department of Internal and Information Policy of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, reported this to Censor.NET.

Details

"More than a week ago, the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, reported that russia was preparing to launch a broad information campaign against Ukraine focused on Oleshky. The occupiers have been exploiting this issue for a long time. They reject agreements on humanitarian missions and evacuations, and then blame Ukraine and the Ukrainian military for the humanitarian catastrophe.

While these false claims used to come from Russian propagandists, the occupying authorities, or Russian officials, they are now trying to use the residents of Oleshky for this purpose. According to our intelligence, commanders of the occupying units have been tasked with filming several dozen such videos. But people refuse to participate in this 'movie,’" she noted.

According to Osmanova, the most cynical aspect is that the Russians want to force people—whose homes they themselves destroyed and occupied, and whom they left without food, water, electricity, or medical care—to praise the occupiers and accuse Ukraine of crimes that are in fact being committed by the Russian army.

"We are already seeing the first such videos on Russian national television channels and other media outlets. In them, people presented as residents of Oleshky praise Russian troops and accuse the Ukrainian army. At the same time, there are significantly fewer such videos than the Russians had planned," noted the head of the Department of Internal and Information Policy of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, adding:

"Right now, the occupiers continue to roam the city looking for people they can coerce or persuade into participating in these propaganda stunts. We understand this scenario and are monitoring it so that we can promptly refute Russian lies and show what is actually happening in Oleshky."
