Rescue and repair work continues in many regions of Ukraine after a massive Russian attack.
This was reported by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on his Telegram channel, according to Censor.NET.
Where did the enemy strike?
According to him, the combined strike was specifically calculated to cause as much damage as possible to our energy sector.
"They used almost 400 drones and 29 missiles of various types, including ballistic missiles. A significant number were shot down, but, unfortunately, there were also hits," he said.
Consequences
Tens of thousands of people in Odesa are without heat and water after the drone strike. All necessary services are working to help.
"A total of 12 regions were hit, and unfortunately, nine people are known to have been injured, including children. More than ten residential buildings and the railway have been damaged.
Our partners must respond to all these attacks against life. Russia must be held accountable for its aggression. Our diplomacy will be more effective if there is justice and strength. The strength of pressure on the Russian Federation – the pressure of sanctions, constant and rapid support for the Ukrainian army, our air defence. For peace to be real and just, we must act on the sole source of this aggression. Because it is Moscow that continues the killings, massive attacks and assaults," the head of state emphasised.
The attack on Ukraine on 17 February
- Earlier it was reported that on the morning of 17 February, Russian invaders launched a missile strike on Ukraine.
- On the evening of 16 February, Russian invaders attacked the Dnipropetrovsk region with missiles, drones, artillery and aerial bombs. Five districts of the region were hit.
- The enemy also attacked Odesa at night, damaging infrastructure and civilian buildings.
- In addition, the enemy attempted to attack Rivne region: no people or infrastructure were harmed.
- According to DTEK, Russian troops attacked the energy infrastructure of Odesa, causing extremely serious damage.
