Blowing up Kakhovka HPP: Currently, there are no victims among population due to high water, - Shmyhal

The Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal, held a meeting of the State Commission of TES and the National Assembly regarding the destruction of the Kakhovka HPP by the Russians.
Shmyhal announced this on Telegram, Censor.NET informs.
According to Shmyhal, he heard operational information from RMA, "Ukrhydroenergo" and ministries.
"Currently, there are no victims among the population due to high water," he clarified.
Shmyhal also noted that currently four main tasks have been set:
- organize the evacuation and placement of people in safe areas. The first trains from Kherson leave at 01:00 p.m.
- Zaporizhzhia NPP. The situation is currently under control. It is important to prevent the development of the worst-case scenario.
- provision of drinking water. Proposals have already been developed, project solutions have been prepared. We are preparing the allocation of funds to start the implementation of projects as soon as possible.
- assessment of environmental consequences. The Ministry of Environment should soon prepare relevant data.
"Everyone has received tasks and instructions on each of these points. Solutions must be worked out quickly and urgently. Members of the state commission receive regular updates on the situation," the message reads.
As Censor.NET reported, on the morning of 6 June, it became known that the Russian occupiers had blown up the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station. According to the Kherson Regional State Administration, the water will reach a critical level in 5 hours after the explosion. Evacuations have begun in the region. Nova Kakhovka is already being flooded. The Korabel district of Kherson is without power, and the gas supply will be cut off in a few hours. National Police and SES units have been put on alert in the Kherson region.
President Volodymyr Zelensky initiated an emergency meeting of the National Security and Defence Council due to the bombing.
According to Energoatom, the racist bombing of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station could have negative consequences for ZNPP, but the situation is under control.
According to Ukrhydroenergo, Kakhovka HPP was completely destroyed as a result of an explosion in the engine room from the inside. The plant is beyond repair. The Prosecutor General's Office opened a criminal investigation into the explosion of the Kakhovka HPP under the article on ecocide.
