Spinant responded to the Chinese correspondent's reprimand, saying that the European Commission unequivocally condemns Russia for this incident, although there was no investigation into its causes.
"You know, of course, as we do, that Russia started this war, that Russia is dropping bombs and shelling, and Ukrainians are defending themselves. Russia bears the primary responsibility for what is happening in Ukraine. She added that the commission condemns the ongoing attacks of the Russian Federation, in whatever form they take place on the territory of Ukraine.
