More than 50 countries called on Russia at the UN Security Council to end its aggression against Ukraine. Two people were killed, and more than 40 were wounded in Kyiv following an attack by Russian Shahed drones. Marco Rubio held talks with Sergei Lavrov in New York, and the US invited Putin to the G20 summit in Miami.

More than 50 countries call on Russia to end its aggression
Diplomats from 51 countries called on Russia to agree to a ceasefire and ensure the immediate return to Ukraine of all civilians, including children, who have been unlawfully detained, deported or forcibly displaced.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said Ukraine had agreed to a full, immediate and unconditional ceasefire and called on Russia to do the same.
Russian attack on Kyiv
Russia attacked Kyiv with drones. Two people were killed and 43 injured.
The Russian attack damaged data centers belonging to internet providers Utels and Pavutyna.
Strikes on Donetsk Oblast and Sumy
- Nine people were injured in Kramatorsk by a Russian strike with an Uragan multiple launch rocket system.
- The Church of St. John the Baptist was also damaged.
- The settlement of Oleksandrivka in Donetsk Oblast’s Kramatorsk district came under attack. Five people were killed and six injured.
- Russia dropped KABs on Sumy, injuring seven people.
Rubio-Lavrov meeting
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov met on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.
After the meeting, Rubio said Ukraine and Russia were interested in ending strikes on energy facilities, although it would be difficult for Washington to achieve this.
Lavrov, meanwhile, said Russia would not halt military operations during possible talks with Ukraine.
Putin invited to the G20 summit in Miami
The United States has officially invited Russian dictator Vladimir Putin to the Group of Twenty (G20) summit, to be held in December 2026 in Miami (Florida).
