The High Anti-Corruption Court continues to select a preventive measure for former Deputy Prime Minister Oleksii Chernyshov, who is suspected of illegal enrichment.
This was reported by Censor.NET.
Before the start of the hearing, Chernyshov stated that he considers the suspicion to be unfounded.
He also stated that, in addition to detention, a preventive measure in the form of house arrest or bail could be applied to him, as he does not intend to flee anywhere.
"We are shown dialogues between third parties discussing various issues. They discuss a certain Che Guevara, who, according to the investigation, is somehow connected to me. I want to inform everyone that my surname is Chernyshov. I do not suffer from identity disorders yet. I have no connection to Che Guevara," Chernyshov stated in court.
Chernyshov believes that "there may be some mistake here" and that he does not know any of the individuals mentioned and has never known them. "When two people discuss a third person, and it is unclear who that third person is, it is certainly not possible to place them under suspicion, let alone put them behind bars. The suspicion is baseless," said the former deputy prime minister.
Two individuals expressed their desire to vouch for Chernyshov and arrived at the High Anti-Corruption Court. They were Oleksandr Savchenko, director of the Scientific Research Institute of Construction Production, and a hierarch of the Patriarchate of Constantinople, exarch of the Ecumenical Patriarch in Ukraine, titular bishop of Komansk, Mykhail, whose secular name is Anishchenko Mykhailo.
