We are at stage of Mindichgate where we are getting used to Yermak not going to jail, Nikolov says. VIDEO
Investigative journalist Yurii Nikolov said society is entering a dangerous phase of growing accustomed to and gradually forgetting the "Mindichgate" corruption scandal.
This was reported by Censor.NET.
Nikolov noted that public attention is gradually dissipating, and over time, fewer people will be asking law enforcement agencies questions:
"We are at the stage of Mindichgate where we are moving into getting used to it, normalizing it, and forgetting what we started with. A few more weeks will pass until the post-holiday stage, some other things will happen, and the scandal will drift even further away. Some people will remember and ask: ‘NABU, where is the notice of suspicion for Yermak?’"
"But there will be fewer and fewer such people, they will switch to new problems, and then spring will come, the sun will come out. And the war won’t seem so scary to some people anymore."
A lack of active procedural steps by NABU and the SAPO could lead to the worst-case scenario, the case being fully shelved without consequences for the key figures. The authorities could also use the situation for political revenge, the journalist believes.
"Unfortunately, we are now in the stage of forgetting. And if NABU and SAPO do not wake up from the lethargy they have now slipped into, the worst-case scenario may happen, when Zelenskyy stands up, brushes himself off and, like Kravchenko, says: ‘And I remember everyone who tried to shake me and I will come for each of you
