The ongoing conflict in Ukraine has resulted in significant destruction, primarily due to Russian aggression. As of January 2025, around 1,333 cultural heritage sites are reported damaged, alongside 2,185 cultural infrastructure facilities. Residential areas, educational institutions, and medical facilities have not been spared, with over 330,000 structures recorded as destroyed or severely damaged. This encompasses 3,400 educational institutions and 1,600 medical facilities. Cities like Marinka, Avdiivka, and Kharkiv bear visible signs of destruction, impacting civilian life and infrastructure extensively. Continuous shelling has not only claimed lives but also left 2.5 million citizens with damaged or destroyed homes. This destruction underscores an urgent need for global attention and support in rebuilding efforts while highlighting the profound impact on Ukrainian society and its cultural legacy. The full-scale invasion by Russia has not only altered cityscapes but also deeply affected citizens, raising concerns about the restoration and preservation of Ukraine's cultural and historic identity.
